Hi, I’m Susi!
Welcome to my corner of the world where fashion meets sustainability. My journey with second-hand shopping began with a realization: there are already so many items of clothing in the world. We don’t need to waste more resources when there’s so much we can do to reuse what we’ve got. In fact, if we stopped making new clothes today, we'd have enough to dress the next six generations!
My passion for preloved fashion blossomed when my children were young. Like many new parents, we bought everything new for our first child. But by the time our second came along, I started looking at what we already had. This shift led me to discover the world of second-hand clothing and I was hooked!
Over the years, this love for second-hand grew into a full-fledged commitment. I realized how much money I was saving, which was a significant bonus, but more importantly, I became acutely aware of the environmental impact of my choices. Each preloved item I bought was one less piece of clothing that needed to be manufactured, saving precious resources and reducing waste.
This journey transformed into a mission: to make sustainable fashion accessible and stylish for everyone. My goal is to inspire others and to show that sustainability can be fashionable and fun.
We hosted our first re:generate Kids Market in 2016 in Titirangi, Auckland, followed by the inaugural re:generate Fashion Market a year later. Today, our markets regularly pop up in various locations across Auckland and Mount Maunganui, offering a unique and vibrant shopping experience.
Our mission is to inspire more people to embrace preloved fashion, and our markets provide an excellent opportunity to explore a wide range of preloved items. However, with over 35 sellers at each venue, the experience can be overwhelming for some.
In January 2023, we opened the doors to New Zealand's first rent-a-rack store on Hurstmere Road in Takapuna. This fresh retail concept has been a hit, and we absolutely love our space and customers! Our store offers a curated selection of preloved fashion, available both in-store and online, providing a more intimate and organized shopping experience.
